The girls’ varsity basketball team faced Justin Siena in a crushing loss last night, bringing their league record to 6-5.

Seniors Danielle McCauley and Bengu Atik helped keep Redwood in the game during the first half with tight defense and fast breaks. However, Justin Siena was able to tie up the game by the third quarter and pull ahead of the Giants in the fourth quarter.

At the end of the fourth quarter, the Giants attempted to make a comeback, with Atik sinking a stunning three-pointer with only one minute left in the game. Despite their aggressive defense and several shots put up, the varsity squad was unable to pull ahead and lost with a final score of 38-34.
