Photo Gallery: Corgis invade Ocean Beach for charity event

A Corgi enjoys a belly scratch.

Hundreds of Corgis—and people who adore them—gathered on Ocean Beach on Saturday, Oct. 21 to celebrate the chubby torsos and stubby legs of these beloved dogs. The event, which occurs semi-annually, is known as Corgi Con.

The event attracted Corgis of all shapes and sizes, many of whom were dressed from Ghostbusters to superheroes to princesses. The gathering started at 10 am and included obstacle courses, vendors selling merchandise ranging from pillows shaped like Corgi-butts to Corgi nation t-shirts, and Corgi-shaped cookies. All proceeds from the event went to benefit Queen’s Best Stumpy Dog Rescue, an organization dedicated to rescuing special needs Corgis and Corgi-mixes.
