After securing a bye in the first round of the North Coast Section Division II playoffs, the top ranked girls’ varsity volleyball team fended off eighth-ranked Newark Memorial High School (23-10) to earn a spot in the tournament’s semi-finals.

The game was more competitive than the 3-1 final score would suggest with three of four games being decided by three points or less.

Despite falling behind 3-0, the Giants scraped out a victory in the first game 27-25. Newark took the second game 25-22. Redwood took the last two, 25-11 and 25-23.

They will play fourth ranked Las Lomas (34-7) at Redwood on Wed., Nov. 14, at 7:00 p.m. for a chance to play in the NCS finals.
