After a hard fought game, girls’ varsity basketball fell to Piedmont 39-59 on yesterday.

Despite the loss junior Lauren Watkins said they came out strong for the team’s first home game.

“We played a great game today. It’s better [to lose] earlier in the season rather than later because we know what we need to work on,” Watkins said.

According to senior Danielle McCauley the team’s offensive came out strong, but they were lagging on the defensive side.
