Photo Essay: San Francisco celebrates a vibrant Chinese New Year

On Saturday, Feb. 24, San Francisco hosted the annual Chinese New Year Parade and Community Festival for the annual Lunar New Year celebration, one of the most vibrant and culturally rich events in the city. The parade highlights festivities such as traditional lion dances, marching bands, cultural performances and special appearances from community members including Mayor London Breed and actress Awkwafina. Throughout February and alongside the parade, the entire city hosts a variety of events including the Community Street Fair, the Miss Chinatown Pageant and much more.
