Photo Essay: Girls’ varsity volleyball tramples over Archie Williams in a three-set showdown

On Sep. 29, the girls’ varsity volleyball team recognized their seniors with flowers and speeches, simultaneously sweeping Archie Williams in three sets. The first set started off rocky, as the Giants were losing 17-19 with back-and-forth points. With a quick break and regroup, the girls found some needed momentum and scraped by 25-19. The second set started off strong, with the Giants taking a quick lead 11-1. Freshman Maddy Wagner was crucial to the momentum as she contributed several aces and gave the girls confidence. Additionally, front-row hitters Kate Sicklick, Jaden Hendrickson and Mayson Weingart brought the energy at the net with numerous kills and blocks. The crowd also contributed to bringing energy as the Giants finished the third set off with a nail-biting 25-21 win. Be at the next game on Oct. 4 at Terra Linda High School at 6:30 p.m. to support the girls!
