The girls’ lacrosse program will add a junior varsity team this season to support the increasing popularity of the sport.
Last year, the school was unable to accommodate two teams, and the 24-member varsity squad consisted of a mix of upper and underclassman with a wide range of skill levels.
Returning players hope that the addition of a JV team will separate the more competitive and committed players, while developing those with lower skill levels for the future.
“We’ll be a lot more focused, we will work a lot harder and more cohesively,” sophomore Christine Cook said. “We’re hoping for around 50 people at tryouts this year.”
