JV Report: Girls’ volleyball beats Branson

Freshman Kyra Weingart jumps to spike the ball. The junior varsity volleyball team defeated Branson on Wednesday night at Redwood.

The JV girls’ volleyball team easily defeated Branson on Wednesday night, Oct. 23, at home.

The team upheld their undefeated record with only one match left in the season.

The Giants won the first game 25-12 and the second game 25-7, with an ace by sophomore Lexie Lamb to end the match.

The Giants took an early lead at the beginning of both games, 7-1 in the first game, and 14-4 in the second.

In their previous matchup earlier this season, Redwood defeated the Bulls as well.

“We won last match so we already had the confidence but we wanted to make sure that we still played at our full potential,” said Rachael Maier, captain of the JV team.

Redwood plays their last match of the season this Thursday at Tam High School, looking to maintain their undefeated record.
