A fourth-quarter comeback by the varsity boys’ basketball team came up short Saturday afternoon as the Giants were handed their first loss of the season, 58-46, by Maria Carillo.

Redwood cut an 18-point halftime deficit to just six points early in the fourth quarter thanks to an array of three pointers by junior Will Breck and senior Molefi Thompson.  However, the team cooled off in the last three minutes of the game, shooting 0 of 4 from three-point range and failing to complete the comeback.

Senior Nick Jones was once again impressive off the bench on Saturday, scoring eight points and pulling in four rebounds.

The Giants will look to bounce back at home on Tuesday against Rancho Cotate High School at 4:00 PM.
