Photo Essay: Track and field dominates MCAL Trials

On May 2, the varsity track and field team headed to San Rafael High School for the Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) trials. The meet started at 3 p.m. with long jump, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put and discus. The track races later began at 5 p.m. Redwood faced off against Tamalpais High School, Branson High School, Archie Williams High School, San Rafael High School, Marin Catholic High School, Terra Linda High School, Novato High School and San Marin High School. Right from the outset of the meet, it was clear that the Redwood athletes would outperform their competition. As the meet drew to a close, this expectation was confirmed as both the girls and boys were in the lead with 70 points and 63 points, respectively. The MCAL championship continues May 4 at San Rafael High School, so come out and support our athletes!
