Photo Essay: Boys’ varsity basketball destroys the San Marin Mustangs in a blowout game

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the boys’ varsity basketball team took on the San Marin Mustangs in a home league game. The Giants came into this game looking for a win, with a record of 12-11, and right from the start, they did just that. After securing the tipoff, senior BJ Fisher scored a lay-up right away to give the Giants a 2-0 lead. This trend continued for a while, as Redwood would score 10 more unanswered points before the Mustangs could get any on the board. After the first quarter, Redwood started to heat up. Non-stop threes from juniors Brennan Woodley and Tyler White gave the Giants a huge lead heading into halftime. The Mustangs came out hot in the third quarter, but they weren’t a match for Redwood’s fast-paced offense. By the end of the third quarter, the blowout was clear. Redwood took away the fourth quarter and ended the game with an electric win over the Mustangs 83-44. Redwood will rest until Friday, Jan. 27, when they take on Tamalpais High School in one of their last league games.
