Photo Essay: Varsity football faces tough loss against Marin Catholic in the yearly Homecoming game

On Saturday, Oct. 21, the varsity football team played against Marin Catholic (MC) in their annual homecoming game. This widely anticipated game was awaited by many football fans, as Redwood had a record of 6-1 and MC had a record of 7-0 going into the matchup.

During the first plays of the game, the Giants had a slow start, falling victim to early mistakes that hindered their performance. While the boys did have some good plays, with junior Ronan Ralston catching an interception in the second quarter, Redwood had a tough time getting past MC’s defense on the offensive side of the ball.

In a game full of darkness, the Giants finally scored their first touchdown in the 4th quarter, thanks to a precise throw from junior Kody Vasquez to senior Jackson Walker. Ultimately, the game ended in a 42-7 loss for Redwood, bringing the Giants’ record to 6-2 on the season.

Despite this loss, Redwood can look forward to two more league games against Tamalpais High School and Archie Williams High School before their season comes to an end.
