Photo Essay: Boys’ varsity water polo splashes through senior night with crucial victory

On Wednesday, Oct. 11th, boys’ varsity water polo faced off against Marin Catholic (MC), ending in an 18-7 win. Redwood improved their record to 10-7 as they celebrated their seniors as a part of senior night.

Senior Zach Baumgarten had two goals to start the game in the first half, but the Wildcats kept the game close. Heading into the third quarter, the Giants led just 7-3, but the game opened up in the second half as MC was outscored 11-4.

Sophomore Charlie Poser helped lead the Giants to the win, scoring five goals.

“[It was] a must win game if we want to [secure] the first seed in the [Marin County Athletic League]. By beating MC, we’ve maintained our first place position,” Poser said.

Catch the boys’ next game on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at home against Terra Linda High School as they attempt to clinch the top seed.
