Photo Essay: Local creativity takes the stage at the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival

On Sept. 23, the Mill Valley Arts Festival welcomed community members to shop and wander through the redwoods of Old Mill Park. The festival recently won the 2023 Pacific Sun Best Art Festival award and the Marin Magazine Best Community Event in Southern Marin award. This weekend-long event featured the art of Tamalpais High School students as well as local artists. Displays of paintings, jewelry, pottery, wire art and more attracted crowds of shoppers and admirers, who enjoyed the live entertainment and national and local talent. Children of all ages gathered around the Children’s Grove, a section of the festival dedicated for kids, to relish the arranged creative performances and activities. The event had families and friends leaving with joyful expressions and a new appreciation for the artists of Marin.
