On Thursday, Feb 2., girls’ varsity basketball won a tough game against Novato High School. The Giants headed up north, prepared for a good game after a devastating loss against Marin Catholic. The girls started off strong in the first quarter, putting up 16 points compared to Novato’s eight. As the second quarter began, the game got intense with multiple fouls committed by each team. Even with this, Redwood continued to stay far ahead with 32 points, but Novato was not giving up with 15 of their own. By halftime, the girls were tired, but stayed relentless on the court. The Redwood and Novato cheerleaders gave spirited performances as the girls rested, and eventually they headed back onto the court to finish up the game. The third quarter ended with Redwood leading 46-21. As the fourth quarter began, both teams kept their energy up, but Redwood came out with the victory, 53-26. Come support the Giants at their next game this Saturday, Feb. 4 at home against Branson as they look to finish the regular season strong.
