CAHSEE pass rates generally higher than state average

Many Redwood sophomores who took the CAHSEE last week walked out of the gym with a sense of ease after taking what many students consider a joke.

This notion is backed up by last year’s CAHSEE data posted by California Department of Education, which showed that 98% of Redwood students passed English-Language Arts section and 99% passed the Math portion of the exam.

The numbers are similar districtwide, as 96% of the Tamalpais Union High School District passed the ELA section and 97% passed the Math section.

Redwood and TUHSD students compare favorable to their peers across the state and are passing at higher percentages, according to Department of Education data.

Statewide, 84% of students passed the math section, while 83% successfully completed the ELA section.
