Girls’ varsity soccer suffers tough loss in first outing

The girls’ varsity soccer team lost its first game of the season 5-0 against Marin Academy on Wednesday.

The team came out flat in the first half, falling behind 2-0 by halftime. Once Marin Academy gained the lead, they never looked back, adding three more points in the second half.

Redwood’s lack of in-game experience was evident throughout the game, as they failed to capitalize on many chances because of frequent miscommunications.

While the loss may be discouraging, Redwood will have to rebound to prepare for league play.

Redwood’s final game before league play is this Friday, against The Urban School, where they will look to sharpen things up before their first MCAL game against Terra Linda the following Tuesday.
