Boys’ varsity soccer nears pennant

With a MCAL pennant on the line, boys’ varsity soccer came out within the first minutes, shutting out San Rafael with a score of 3-0 today.

Nine minutes in, senior Cameron Brown slipped through the back line of defense, chipping the ball over San Rafael’s keeper and into the top left corner.

Junior Julian Ulrich scored Redwood’s second goal with a header inside the box.

In the first half of the game, sophomore Jack Elders slipped a through ball inside, just under the San Rafael keeper’s reach.

Coach Gabe Zeiff said the team came out of the huddle and played just as they had intended–physical and focused.

With the win, Redwood will advance to the MCAL final against Tam.

“We are planning to come out the same way against Tam on Friday. We will just play our game and possess,” Zeiff said.
