After struggling to shoot the ball in the first half, the Giants had a streak of goals in the second half. Marin Catholic scored one goal off of a penalty kick.

After the team struggled to put the ball in the net, freshman Aaron Schten crossed the ball directly in front of junior Julian Ulrich, setting him up for an easy header into the goal, making the score 1-0.

Senior Alex Schten then spiraled the ball into the lower right corner of the net to score the second goal. Two more goals made by seniors Teymour Sadrieh and Miguel Rodriguez secured the Giants’ comfortable lead.

Senior Brooks Roenisch scored the last goal in the remaining ten seconds of the game, leaving the Giants with a final score of 5-1.

“I didn’t think we were showing our strengths in the first half, but after we scored I think we really picked it up,” junior captain Isaac Perper said.  “After getting a couple goals, our subs and bench players played exceptionally well. I think that shows how strong we are as a team as a whole and that we have a lot of depth.”

The team plays its next game on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Branson.
