Boys’ soccer pulls off 1-0 win at Game Night

An early goal by junior Julian Ulrich in last Friday’s game against Casa Grande was enough to secure the Redwood boys’ varsity soccer team’s second win of the season.

The goal, which was scored in approximately the 15th minute, was assisted by captain Isaac Perper, junior, who dribbled down the side of field and laid the ball off to Ulrich, who was waiting for the ball at the six yard box.

According to Perper, the team has progressed since losing their first game against Marin Academy. They have managed to tie in two games, and win their last two games.

“We have the keys to succeed this season. We’ve got the footwork down, but we have to work on our fitness if we want to succeed later on in the season,” Perper said.

The boys will face Branson at home on Tuesday, Sept. 9 for their first MCAL game of the season.
