On March 31, the boys varsity golf team delivered a dominant performance against Terra Linda at Stonetree Golf Club, finishing with a 187-239 victory. Sophomore Jack Caldwell led the way with a standout round, shooting one under par.
Head coach Larry Sennett highlighted the team’s steady improvement throughout the season. After struggling to break 200 in earlier matches, the team recently posted scores in the low 190s and 180s. According to Sennett, their growth has been driven by their ability to learn from mistakes and adapt.
“With a little trial and error, we’ve put together a lineup that works well together and supports each other. Now, they’ve hit their stride,” Sennett said.
Sophomore James Hamil credited the team’s consistent effort and practice as a crucial part of their success. Although he lacked confidence early in the match, his performance improved as the round progressed.
Freshman Jakoby Gershman emphasized both the team’s confidence and execution, noting that they overcame challenging course conditions.
“Going into today’s match, I felt confident. The greens were a bit difficult because they just got punched, but I think we executed well,” Gershman said. “I think we’re just a better overall team, we came out in the clutch and we ended with a great score.”
Redwood’s next match is on April 13, facing San Rafael at McInnis Park Golf Course.
