Students participated in a walkout in protest of ICE, using chants, personal anecdotes and signs on Jan. 20 to make noise over Larkspur.
After meeting at the amphitheater at 2 p.m., protesters walked past the Mt. Tam Racquet Club before turning left onto Magnolia Ave., where restaurant-eaters, Hall Middle School parents and passerby’s honked horns and applauded the student-led movement. The event was filled with emotion, ranging from angry calls for action to pleads for support of immigrants.
Various motivations filled the walk to the Larkspur Public Library, with many students calling on friends and relatives who have seen ICE actions first-hand.
