On Saturday, Nov. 8, the boys’ varsity football team took on American Canyon High School in their last league game of the season. The Giants had a promising start to the game with an impressive 4-yard rushing touchdown by senior Ben Vaughn in the first quarter. In the second quarter, American Canyon secured the lead after two back-to-back touchdowns. Following a scoreless third quarter, senior Rudy Vasquez gave Redwood hope with a 50-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, leaving the score close. Repeating American Canyon’s end of season win over Redwood last year, they managed one more touchdown at the end of the game. The Giants finished nine points behind American Canyon, officially ending their league season. This was an especially emotional loss for the seniors, as they were unsure if they would make it into playoffs.
