On Sept. 17, the girls’ flag football team traveled to Novato to take on San Marin in a challenging, well-fought battle. The Giants started the game with a fumble in their own end zone, causing a safety and rewarding the San Marin Mustangs with the first two points of the night. The girls weren’t able to turn around the momentum and fell to a 16-0 Mustang lead at the end of the third quarter. Luckily, freshman quarterback Annalise Pyle was able to scramble for a touchdown and complete a two-point conversion pass to senior Stella Belluomini to begin the fourth quarter in hopes of a comeback. The Giants played tough, showing determination on the field while maintaining high spirits on the sideline, but came up short against the Mustangs with a final score of 28-8. The Giants will hope to bounce back in their next home game against University on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
