At every farmers market, grocery store or farm, there lay perfectly round and red apples next to the oval, yellow and autumn colored ones. As people pass and pick their produce, the imperfect apples get left behind and eventually make their way to the landfill. Food waste is a struggle that farmers and consumers must work together to solve. This video explores the reality of food waste due to the abundance of imperfect food and how to then reduce the amount of food waste by making the right decision when picking produce.
