Since its invention in Fairfax in the late 1960s, at the peak of hippie culture, mountain biking has been immensely popular in Marin County. Recreation areas like Mt. Tam and Camp Tamarancho draw thousands of riders of all ages and skill levels each year, allowing them to both unwind and get an adrenaline rush. Redwood’s multi-year, state-champion high school mountain biking team boasts some of the most skilled cyclists in the area, each bringing their own perspective to the sport. In this video, these cyclists reflect on what makes the sport special to them.
