Today, people are more connected online than ever, but it turns out one of the best ways to meet people is at the end of a leash. Dog parks are just the beginning to friendships that will last a lifetime. Just down the road from Redwood; Piper Park is home to a beautiful marsh attracting wildlife creating a place of community through the beauty of walking your dog. Across the glistening Corte Madera Creek and tucked behind the Bon Air Mall, is the Bon Air walking path. With breathtaking views of Mount Tamalpais this dog park shows Marin’s beauty while bringing this community together. Dog parks are quietly building community through the unique bond shared by dog owners. This video explores the privilege of having a dog that transforms social lives by taking people out of houses and into parks, where accidental conversations can develop into lifelong relationships. It’s worth valuing these spaces, since without dogs many of these quality connections would have never been made.
