During the show's opening, the senior production “Motherlode” cast gathers to chant “I’ve grown, I’ve changed” as they surround Sydney Brodie.
As their final Redwood performance, the graduating seniors of the Ensemble Production Company (EPiC) drama program worked to create a moving student-written production titled “Motherlode.” When writing the script, senior students drew from their own lives and struggles and transformed these scenarios to fit different monologues, portraying their high school experiences. Addressing topics such as struggles with self-confidence, encountering insulting comments, suffocating under pressure and personal loss, the audience recognized the senior class’s hard work through their performances and throughout their four years. The play, directed by drama teacher Erik Berkowitz,, occurred on May 1 and 2.
