Echoing throughout the little theater on Dec. 3, the music department showcased itstheir annual Concert Band and Symphonic Band Winter Concert. The Symphonic Band performance featured a flute trio harmony that performed “Dance of the Reed Flutes.” Originating from “The Nutcracker,” the piece serenaded the audience with rapid, syncopated rhythms and sharp melodies. Shifting the tone of the concert, the band performed a piece from the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” that showcased upbeat jazz rhythms and the brass sounds of the saxophone. To conclude the night, the band performed a compilation of “Star Wars” themes, moving from flute pieces to a crescendo of cymbals crashing to create a finale for the show. The band will continue performances until Dec. 6.
