Photo Essay: Boys’ varsity soccer secures ticket to MCAL championship with major win over Tam

In order to secure the ticket to the Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) championship, the boys’ varsity soccer team first had to defeat a worthy opponent: Tamalpais High School. Redwood proved their dominance in a 3-0 victory, with key offensive contributions from several seniors, including Jack Middleton, Tom Griffin and Ensio Sardans. Early in the first half, Griffin and Middleton got the momentum going with two thrilling goals, giving the team a visible boost of energy. After finishing the half off with a strong 2-0 lead, the team did not let the momentum shift, continuing into the second half with another impressive goal. The team will now face off against Archie Williams at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at San Rafael High School for the MCAL championship game.
