On Friday, March 24, the boys’ varsity lacrosse team gave Jesuit High School (OR) a run for its money in a high-intensity battle for one of the top rankings on the West coast. To begin the game, Jesuit came out hot, scoring four straight goals. After a brief timeout, Redwood quickly fired back, putting up four unanswered goals of their own to even the score at the end of the first quarter. Senior Collin Harper played phenomenally, scoring three individual goals while taking big hits but playing through for his teammates. Junior Harrison Curtiss, having just recovered from injury, shined in his return to the offensive end of the field, posting two goals respectively. Senior Parker Pewitt was the standout though. Pewitt put up a hat trick while instilling hope into his team as senior captain throughout the game. Redwood ended up losing 18-8 after a tough second half but looks to take revenge against Saint Ignatius on Friday, March 31, with home-field advantage at 6 p.m.
