On Wednesday, Feb. 8, the boys’ varsity soccer team faced off against Terra Linda in their first Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) playoff game. While both teams were evenly matched, Terra Linda pulled off a 1-0 win. After Terra Linda’s initial goal in the first half, they crowded their defense making it difficult for the Giants to move the ball. During the second half of the game, Redwood worked to advance the ball and stay on offense. Though the Giants had multiple attempts at evening the score, including a free kick from junior Thomas Griffin, they were unable to tie the game. While this loss means the end of the MCAL season for the boys, they still have more games to play with the North Coast Section tournament coming up.
