Beginning Drama performs One Act plays

The Beginning Drama class premiered their One Acts on Wednesday and continued performances through Dec. 6.

The skits served as a final project for the Drama 1-2 course, and lasted between approximately 10 and 15 minutes each. Preparation for the skits began on Oct. 8.

“We had less time this year than last year,” said senior Monica Frangoul, one of the directors. “We had about a month and a half to memorize lines and rehearse. It was a little hard, especially for my cast since one, it was their first performances, and two, I had to teach them how to dance. But it all worked out in the end.”

Frangoul’s skit, “Executive Dance,” featured Joshua Dabora and Samuel Chavez as two co-workers dancing at an executive dance to impress their boss and receive promotions. Throughout the performance they perform such favorites as the Merengue, Foxtrot, and Waltz.

Freshman Jake Hansen acted in the play entitled “Class Action,” which featured several scenes that represent the positive and negative moments of high school life.

“I’ve done stuff like it before, so I wasn’t that nervous, but Drama prepared us pretty well,” Hansen said. “It was a lot of fun.”
