The varsity football team pulled off their first win of the preseason last Saturday afternoon in a 42-6 sweep against Richmond High School.

After a first quarter 20-yard touchdown by junior Michael Lee, the team’s offense caught fire, with a notable 91-yard run for a touchdown by running back Joe Kasselik, ending the first half with a two touchdown lead over Richmond.

The defensive line held their ground, forcing five three-and-outs and limiting Richmond’s offence to a single third quarter touchdown by De’Andre Ellis.

Sophomore Jaquez Sweeney covered an impressive 65-yards to score the last touchdown.

The game ended with Redwood scoring a total of six touchdowns against Richmond’s one.

The first league game will be on Sept. 20 against Tam, which is undefeated.
