On Wednesday, Feb. 11, the Corte Madera Super Duper location officially opened its doors to the community. After a year of construction, the restaurant opened beside the 101 Highway in the old Amy’s Drive Thru building.

Vice President of Operations Ed Onas played a key role in the opening, overseeing logistics and ensuring standards were upheld. Alongside the technical work, Onas strived to uphold the core values of the Super Duper chain.

“Super Duper is all about the people. We create an atmosphere that is very family-like, but we also hold ourselves accountable to our promises of great food, great service and a clean restaurant,” Onas said. 

Junior Bradley Nanola eagerly visited the store on opening day, finding the new spot quite convenient.

“The new location is really nice. I live in Larkspur, right next to Redwood, and it’s so much better than having to drive all the way to Mill Valley,” Nanola said.

Nanola credits the restaurant for maintaining a very positive, family-friendly atmosphere despite the opening day nerves.

“One employee opened the door for us and we gave him fist-bumps. Everyone was really stoked and really nice. The environment is friendly and happy, and everyone is just having a good time,” Nanola said.

General Manager Miriam Mejia also promotes the growth of staff members in addition to providing a pleasurable experience for customers. After beginning her Super Duper career several years ago as a cashier, Mejia values the development of her employees and seeks to help them advance as she did.

“One of the great things I’m looking forward to is really growing our team. I’ve been in the company for seven years, so I know that it is possible for everyone to grow, too,” Mejia said.

Both Onas and Mejia emphasized excitement for being a part of such a close-knit community and look forward to engaging with residents during future events.

“My hope is to connect with the community. I love doing Dine and Donate events so I’m very excited to have this location here and reach more customers,” Mejia said.

On Sunday, March 1, the location will expand from on-site service and will be open for orders on UberEats and DoorDash apps.
