The most advanced jazz class’ dancers all strike their individual poses, spaced in a diagonal line on stage.
On Saturday, Jan. 24, RoCo Dance held their bi-annual performance, following a tech rehearsal the evening before. During the rehearsal Friday, each dance ran through once to make sure the lighting and formations were all correct. Afterward, dancers received feedback from their teacher, and did another full run-through if needed.
The teen show included dancers ages 10 to 18, including junior Opaline Poissonnier-Vigery. She has been dancing at RoCo since fifth grade, and has only had positive experiences.
“[RoCo] has a team spirit… It’s about connecting with other dancers by doing what we love, not trying to out-perform everyone else,” Poissonnier-Vigery said. RoCo will have its next show June 5 to 7, with all new dances performed.
