On Tuesday, Jan. 20, girls varsity soccer took on Archie Williams in an away Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) matchup. Throughout the game, Redwood dominated the field, keeping the ball upfield and maintaining a lead on the scoreboard. The Giants ended the match with a 4-0 win, improving their MCAL record to 5-4-4. From the start, Redwood controlled possession with sophomores Kaia Amir and Zoe Clark both scoring goals in the first half to give the Giants a lead at halftime. Senior Lily O’shea and sophomore Claire Grand continued Redwood’s dominance by scoring two more goals in the second half. Defensively, players such as senior Sydney Middleton and junior goalkeeper Evie Dickerson played strongly, helping secure the shutout. In their next MCAL game, the girls will celebrate their seniors and take on Terra Linda at home on Thursday, Jan. 22.
