“Up to 95 percent of youth ages 13 to 17 report using a social media platform, with more than a third saying they use social media ‘almost constantly,’” according to the National Library of Medicine. In an exploration of students’ social media addictions at Redwood, students reported that they would need to be paid high amounts of money, ranging from $50-1000+, to delete their social media apps for one month.
