The girls varsity basketball record breaking season came to an end Tuesday, March 3, as the Giants fell to the Vanden Vikings in a heartbreaking fashion of 52-48. The Giants put up a fight, opening the game with a 14-0 scoring run, as team captains Kitty White and Brooke Denler dominated in the paint. The offense struggled in the second half, and combined with a strong 3-point performance from the Vikings, the Giants’ lead slipped away. The loss concluded their playoff run in the California Interscholastic Federation playoff tournament. Despite the loss, various accolades and school records remain the highlight of the Giant’s season, as they became the first Marin County Athletic League school in history to win the North Coast Section Division 1 championship.
