On June 2, seniors and their parents gathered in the gym for the heartfelt Roots Down tradition. Introduced in recent years, the event offers the graduating class a final moment of connection—both with each other and with their families—as they reflect on the time they have spent together. The event kicked off with speeches from Principal Barnaby Payne and Senior Class President Julia Laury, who then introduced a few teachers who felt a special connection with the graduating class. Jonathan Hirsh, Heather Curtaz, Tristan Bodle, Emily LaTourette with Ernesto Diaz and Ann Jaime took the stage to celebrate the class of 2025. Amidst speeches, Advanced Performance Workshop (APW) performed “Rivers and Roads” by The Head and the Heart. To continue the sentimental environment, a few seniors read aloud letters to their parents. Following the presentations, the rest of the students shared a more private moment to also read their letters. The night was finished with the “passing of the torch” ceremony where parents held a candle and faced their graduate while Payne read a few motivational words.
