The crowd may have been sparse, but nothing could have stopped the girls’ varsity basketball team from defeating the Branson Bulls in the Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) semifinals with their high spirits and athleticism on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Sitting at the No. 1 seed in league games, the team has continued dominating this year after breaking school history last year with a North Coast Section (NCS) win. The first quarter was slow, with a combined total of nine points, the Giants leading by only one, but things started to pick up before halftime. By the third quarter, the Giants had increased their lead significantly and finished the game out strong with a score of 50-19. The MCAL championship will occur this Saturday, Feb. 15, at 7:00 p.m. at Terra Linda. The Giants will go on again to NCS in a groundbreaking run.
