On Tuesday, Jan. 28, boys’ varsity basketball triumphed in a match against the San Marin Mustangs with a final score of 73-53. Senior captain Semetri “TT” Carr led the game with an explosive performance, topping the stat sheet as the game-leading scorer with 30 points.
Redwood established control early and succeeded in their high-pressure defense, preventing the Mustangs from scoring early. With junior Charlie Poser and senior Noah Tanaka anchoring the Giants defensively, they worked to disrupt San Marin’s offensive rhythm. On the offensive side, seniors Tyler White, Brennan Woodley and Tanaka were on a shooting streak, with each person making shots from the three-point line to put the Giants ahead early. Their sharp shooting along with unselfish playing paired well with Carr’s dominant scoring.
Since returning from their close loss against Marin Catholic, the Giants have beaten Novato and San Marin, rallying a winning streak once again. They will match up against Tamalpais High School on Friday, Jan. 31, at home for senior night.
