On Thursday, Dec. 12, girls’ varsity basketball was defeated by the Acalanes Dons. The Giants previously played the Dons in December, losing 57-28, and this rematch proved quite similar. Redwood started strong offensively for most of the first quarter as the two teams were evenly matched. At the end of the second quarter, however, Acalanes started to pull away, draining multiple three-pointers, ending the half leading 23-12. Unfortunately for the Giants, the Dons came into the second half with high intensity and didn’t let down, winning with a final score of 57-34. The Giants will return to the court and face off against San Domenico in an away game on Saturday, Dec. 14.
