Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated annually on the fourth Thursday in November. While the state of New York first officially adopted it as an annual holiday in 1817, it wasn’t until 1863 that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it a national holiday. As this year’s Thanksgiving Day approaches on Nov. 28, the time arises to celebrate the holiday’s origins and express gratitude to all. The season of gratitude is the perfect time to reflect on what you’re thankful for and Redwood students across all grades remain excited to express their appreciation.
