With beginning-of-year festivities settling down and regular school assignments and tests falling into a rhythm, many students are trying to figure out what atmosphere they can best get work done in. While many students default to studying at home, this can bring procrastination and distractions, so finding the right study spot is crucial. Some students work best in a completely silent environment, while others benefit from collaboration or studying outside. Regardless, it is important
to become familiar with your ideal study environment. This list will help you familiarize yourself with three different spots to get work done besides your own home.
Redwood Library:
For many students, the Redwood Library is a busy hub throughout the school day. However, for those who spend time there during a free period or after school, the library is a quiet and relaxing spot to get work done. With a recent renovation over the summer, the library is now full of expansive tables for collaboration and study groups, as well as quiet shielded booths for concentrating on individual work. The library also has many amenities, such as printers, desktops and a vast array of stationary. The library is open from 7:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Fridays. In addition, the library is perfect for those who prefer a quiet environment when studying.
Equator:
Equator Coffee is located near Redwood on Magnolia Avenue, featuring a vast menu of coffees, refreshers, pastries and sandwiches. This study spot is perfect for those who prefer studying with a little bit of movement and quiet background noise, as the cafe has constant chatter and a steady drum of coffee machines. Just across the road from Dolliver Park and right in the middle of downtown Larkspur, Equator is in a convenient location. Equator
Coffee also provides many tables to work, including both indoor seating and outdoor picnic tables. Equator Coffee is open until 5:00 p.m. every day. With a social and friendly atmosphere, this is a great place to come with friends to work on a project, so feel free to pick up a coffee and a pastry.
Corte Madera Town Park:
Corte Madera Town Park is the perfect choice for those who study best outside. This can be the ideal place to settle down at a table or on a picnic blanket and study to the sound of chirping birds and the smell of fresh air. Similar to Equator Coffee, Town Park is a great place to collaborate on work because of its social atmosphere. Furthermore, its outdoor location is extremely convenient as it is surrounded by skateparks and basketball courts and is just down the street from the Town Center, all perfect activities to occupy you if you need a break.
Whether you like to study outdoors, in complete silence, or with friends, Marin has a variety of study spots to utilize. As the school year commences, make sure to drop by a few of these study spots.
