On Tuesday, Sept. 3, the girls’ varsity tennis team hosted Terra Linda for their third match of the season. Despite the sweltering heat, exaggerated by the clay surface, the Giants dominated, ending with a 7-0 win against their opponents. Freshman Alessia Balliet set the tone for the match with an outstanding performance, sweeping her contender 6-1 in both the first and second matches.
Following this momentum, senior Hannah Gould and her sister Skye, a freshman, showcased their sibling strength; they worked cohesively in their doubles match, sweeping both sets 6-0. Shut-out wins were a common theme for the Giants, as senior Leina Khan and freshman Adrienne De Mos ended their doubles match winning 6-0 in each set. The scorching weather only added to the fire brought by the Giants as they defended their home courts. Redwood sent Terra Linda home without a single set-win in any matches. The Giants will face Branson in their next match this Thursday at 4 p.m.
