This morning at 6:59 a.m., firefighters and paramedics at the Southern Marin Fire Department gathered around their flag, hanging at half mast, to commemorate their fallen brothers involved in 9/11.
The time, West Coast time, marks the moment that the South Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City collapsed, just fifty-six minutes after the second plane crashed into the center.
The Southern Marin Fire Department was just one of many departments to hold a service, which involved the retriggering of the original alarm that took place in 2001.
