A Kentfield home caught fire Monday morning, resulting in extensive damage to the home but none to the inhabitants.
106 Goodhill Road caught fire at 2 a.m. on Monday, May 20, burning in a controlled area in the center of the home. The three inhabitants, a 95-year-old woman, her son and her daughter-in-law, escaped to their neighbor’s house.
“They knocked on my door at two o’clock – they didn’t have enough time to call 911,” said neighbor Mike Baldwin.
Baldwin called 911 after taking his neighbors into his home.
According to Baldwin, the emergency response was swift and effective.
“They did a great job,” Baldwin said. “Then they came back afterwards and… saved anything they could.”
The damage was contained to the home, barely singing the hedges surrounding the property.
The cause of the fire is not known at the moment.
