The JV girls’ volleyball team reestablished their dominant position in MCAL Friday night after a loss to Marin Catholic, delivering a crushing performance against Tam in which they won both sets by scores of 25-5 and 25-6.
Although the difference in skill level between the two teams was apparent, the Giants didn’t back down. Freshman Sally Noble contributed immensely to the team with multiple terminating kills.
“[Noble] started out as a good player but she has improved a lot this season,” said sophomore captain Raya Corren. “She creates an extremely supportive and uplifting mood for the team.”
The girls started their first game extremely strong with few mistakes.
However, as the game progressed, it was noticeable that communication was a clear issue. The few points Tam scored resulted from Redwood players not calling for the ball.
“We can always work on stuff as a team, but I think communication is our biggest struggle,” Corren said. “On the court we sometimes don’t call whose ball it is, which can cost us some points.”
