“FIFA 16” brings the same addictive feel of past years’ games but is more authentic and provides an improved soccer experience. From enhanced gameplay and new ultimate team modes to the implementation of women’s national teams, “FIFA 16” is better in every way.
FIFA gameplay has always been the factor that made people want to play, and this year’s game is no different. Players have even more control of their team with new controls such as “no-touch dribbling”(below) and “driven passes” (under.)https://vimeo.com/141247092https://vimeo.com/141247012Because of these features, These changes make the game much more midfield centric and less influenced by the speed of the attacking players.
In “FIFA 15,” one could simply pass across the length from their defense to an attacker and then run on goal and score (below.)https://vimeo.com/141247091 This year, that feat is much more difficult, and the most rewarded way to play is through numerous midfield passes and looking for open lanes for attack (below.)[vimeo id=”https://vimeo.com/141247103″ size=”large” align=”center“]
New modes have been added to this year’s game such as Ultimate Team Draft. This feature allows ultimate team players to select a team of players at random, taking talent and chemistry into account. This makes it possible to play a few games with some of the rarer players in the game, letting more people experience those they cannot use on their normal ultimate team. While receiving these players is only temporary, it is nice to be able to access all of the players in the game, regardless of time spent or money invested.
“FIFA 16” is the first of the series to include women’s teams in the game. While they have only included 12 national teams, a small number compared to the number of men’s teams usually included, but this inclusion is long overdue and a welcome addition for many of the female users of FIFA. The women’s teams are only available in a small part of the game and not included in ultimate team, but including them in the game regardless is a step in the right direction.
“FIFA 16” really does everything it attempts to do. It has made minor changes to the gameplay that don’t make it feel extremely foreign to a “FIFA 15” player, but do make a noticeable difference. It is also added women and created new modes that will make players of previous editions splurge on the new game.
While no changes are that drastic, that is not necessarily a bad thing. FIFA took an already great game and made it more realistic and more enjoyable. This year’s soccer simulator is the most authentic ever made and will be played and enjoyed by millions around the world.
